![]() Welcome to Crochet By Monica Kennedy. I have been crocheting since 2002 and love to share my patterns with the world. Thank you so much for visiting. I earn money for each page hit so I really appreciate your visit. I am disabled and this is a great income opportunity for me and I still get to allow you to use my patterns for free. Please refer others here to help me to continue to offer free patterns. Join the group if you would like to be notified when I post new patterns. If you are interested in purchasing a unique, handmade heirloom afghan for someone you love, please contact me. Prices range from $35-100+ depending on yarn selection and difficulty of chosen pattern. Each afghan is also prayed over while being made. Tell me about the person you will be giving it to and I will specifically pray for them as I make the afghan. Other crocheted items can be made as well upon request.
God bless you every day! ~Monica Kennedy Featured

For a new crocheter you are good. I have been crocheting most of my life and have never been able to write patterns well. Your patterns are beautiful and the person who sugested you write a pattern book on the dogwood eight point is absolutely right. As you progress with crochet you will get better and better, as good as you are now you'll be an expert soon.

Thanks! I have thought about writing a pattern book, but I am waiting to see how well I make money here on Gather. I can share the patterns for free and still get paid by Gather. I am hoping it will be enough.

Monica your patterns are beautiful I have a hard time because I crochet backwards( I am left handed and had to teach my self to crochet because my mom got to frustrated trying to teach me and the books that she had didn't have much on left handed. But I have overcome that and have the courage to try patterns as I said earlier thay no longer look like greek to me and I even have taught my mom a few things that she never knew! I am currently teaching my 5 year old daughter to crochet I was teaching my 9 year old son but he informed me that he was only learning because he was bored while he was grounded and since he isn't grounded he doesn't want to learn anymore (until next time he gets grounded and believe me he will) but that is OK my 13 year old daughter isn't exactly interested in it but my 13 year old step son who is only with us during the summer asked me to teach him I plan on starting tonight. I hope that by the end of the summer to give him a few of your patterns and a hook and a few skiens to take home with him and maybe by next summer he will have one done. I do hope that he keeps up on it.

I'm a lefty too. Ya know what they say "Leftys are always right." Right brained anyway. I learned by sitting right across from my mother and thats how I teach others who are rightys. And I also get a kick out of teaching my mom new pattern stitches and stuff. I bypassed her in skill by the time I was 11 when she taught me when I was 9.
